In May, the Washington/Greene Cheerleading Special Olympics hosted participants from Washington, Greene, Fayette, and Beaver counties at a celebratory picnic at the Waynesburg Lions Club Park.
The event was sponsored by a number of generous community supporters including: Giant Eagle (Rices Landing), Gialone’s (Fredericktown), Fredericktown Butchershop, Bee Graphics (Fredericktown), Giant Eagle (Waynesburg), Mia Homestyle Diner (Carmichaels), Italian Boys Pizza (Rices Landing), Fraternal Order of Eagles (Waynesburg), Waynesburg Lions Club, From Scratch (Uniontown), Press on Bakes & Brews (Carmichaels), Scotty’s Pizza , Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, and Direct Results
Their seasonal sports schedule for Washington and Greene counties include:
- Fall: Bocce, Flag Football, Long Distance Running/Walking, Powerlifting, Soccer, and Cheerleading
- Winter: Snowshoeing and Bowling
- Spring: Basketball and Swimming
- Summer: Golf
