Trick or Treat, Share Some Treats!

Certainly no one will say, “I got a rock!” at the upcoming Trunk or Treat event that will take place on October 27, 2024, at Wana B Park in Carmichaels, organized by Legendary Conventions. Plenty of delicious Halloween goodies will be provided by businesses and individuals; it’s the sweetest part of Halloween!

Dave Plavi and his wife Katy formed Legendary Conventions LLC to bring more activities into the area – by locals for locals. Dave shares that folk from Greene County often must travel to neighboring counties to enjoy the same activities that Greene County citizens and businesses can offer themselves. This is the fifth year Trunk or Treat has been brought to the community via Legendary Conventions.

While there is a lot of work that goes into providing large events such as the Trunk or Treat, it’s worth it. The event continues to draw folks and provide them a safe family friendly place to take their children. The first two years the event was held at the Skyview Drive-In, but it quickly outgrew that space, and, with the drive-in closed, the event needed a new location—Wana B Park.

Dave gives tons of credit to the people who help make events such as this event a success. Without donations and countless volunteers, the Trunk or Treat would not be entering its fifth year. Some of the people who take part are the local fire and police departments, the park and recreation department and students from Carmichaels High School, among many others.

Last year, the Wild Thing from the Washington Wild Things made an appearance – he was a big hit! This year, there will be food trucks and a Jumbotron…plus lots and lots of delicious treats!

Legendary Conventions hosts other local events as well. This September, they are hosting a pop-up drive-in at the Nemacolin VFD. The free event features a film and concessions inside the fire hall, and all proceeds benefit the Nemacolin VFD. Legendary Conventions has also hosted Waynesburg Toy & Comic Expo, Legendary Con, and several other events.

Dave and Katy have a heart for the community they serve and feel that providing opportunities for friends and neighbors to spend time together is an asset in any community. They truly believe that it takes a village!

They also recognize that without the help and dedication that they have found within the county that they would not be able to hold such large events and want to take this opportunity to put out a huge thanks to those who take part by being a volunteer or by donating to any of the events they host.

So, on October 27, 2024, from 3PM to 5Pm, take your family to Wana B Park in Carmichaels and experience Trunk or Treat. Visit the food trucks and enjoy a time of fun and community! And again, be assured… No one will get a “rock.” Happy Halloween!
