The West Greene Sewage Line Extension Project Started
Work has commenced on the West Greene Sewage Project, which will provide a sewage line extension from Rogersville to the district campus, replacing our aging sewage plant. The district and the Center Township supervisors have worked hand in hand to bring this project to life. The district also received grant support from Senator Bartolatta’s office to help bring this project to fruition.
West Greene School District Community AI Playbook Authored
At West Greene School District, we believe that technology must never replace the human connections, critical thinking, and hard work that define our Pioneer community. While we recognize AI’s potential as a restricted, secondary tool for deep research, brainstorming, and administrative efficiency, we explicitly reject its use as a shortcut or a substitute for independent student thought.
Our district is committed to establishing strict, clear boundaries within our student handbooks to prevent academic dishonesty and dependency, while ensuring that both teachers and students navigate these tools with total transparency. We are dedicated to prioritizing hands-on, engaging learning experiences that foster integrity, safeguard data privacy, and ensure our graduates remain deeply human, capable, and prepared for a changing workforce.
New Course Offerings
There will be several new course offerings this year at West Greene. We will be implementing two new AI courses based on explaining machine learning and how we can use it ethically in education. We will also be offering a new Financial Literacy curriculum in grades K-12.
