On July 11th, nearly 50 friends and neighbors gathered with one goal in mind: raising funds for The Way Community Center in Waynesburg. What many didn’t expect was just how much fun they’d have along the way.
The event took place at Hunting Hills Shooting Preserve in Dilliner, a beautiful setting that proved to be the perfect host for a day of sporting clays, friendly competition, and genuine community spirit. From the moment shooters arrived mid-morning, the atmosphere was electric — part competition, part reunion, and part good old-fashioned fellowship.

Rex Buckhalter won the Top Shooter Award.
Teams assembled in multiple combinations: brothers standing shoulder to shoulder, fathers shooting alongside their sons and daughters, co-workers swapping their usual roles for shotguns and clay pigeons, and longtime friends teaming up for bragging rights. By the end of the day, many participants who arrived as strangers left as friends, bonded by a shared love of the sport and a shared cause.
None of it would have come together without the outstanding hospitality of Hunting Hills Shooting Preserve and their team who made sure every guest felt welcomed. Every station ran smoothly, and every stomach was well fed with delicious food at the end of the day.
Adding to the excitement, participants had the chance to win cash prizes through raffles and head-to-head events. A standout moment came with the gun raffle, which offered winners their choice of five firearms displayed by the on-site gun shop at Hunting Hills.
When the last clays had fallen, Rex Buckhalter claimed the title of top shooter, while the team of Randy Connor, Brendan Midla, Chuck Stewart, and Scotty Dowen took home the top team award. But the real winners were the families served by The Way Community Center. Every dollar raised will go directly toward helping connect the people of Greene County. None of this would be possible without the generosity of the local businesses, churches, and nonprofits who sponsored the event. A heartfelt thank-you goes out to:
