Waynesburg University has selected Eryka Hackney as a 2026 recipient of the esteemed Founders Scholarship, which covers tuition and fees in full. She is the daughter of Eric and Jessica Hackney of Wind Ridge.

Hackney is a Highest Honor Roll student who has challenged herself academically through several AP courses while actively participating in numerous clubs and athletic programs throughout the district. She was crowned the 2024 Greene County Fair Queen and has completed more than 100 hours of community service. Through the National Honor Society, she helped lead community service projects benefiting The Salvation Army and Corner Cupboard Food Bank. She remains deeply committed to serving and strengthening her community.

A dedicated student-athlete, Hackney served as captain of the cross country and track & field teams and as co-captain of the cheer squad. She is also president of West Greene’s Future Farmers of America (FFA) Chapter and of the Class of 2026, as well as vice president of the Science Club. She plans to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and hopes to continue her leadership, service, and passion for helping others.
