Sharing the Spirit of America

The Fort Jackson Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution will lead a commemorative reading of the Declaration of Independence as part of a nationwide observance connecting communities across all 50 states and 16 U.S. territories. Inspired by the historic public reading first delivered in Philadelphia on July 8, 1776, this synchronized event invites Americans to take part in a shared moment of reflection on the nation’s founding ideals. Despite spanning thousands of miles and multiple time zones, participants will join together in reading the Declaration at the same time, honoring the enduring legacy of independence and unity.
