Wayne Lumber & Supply has been part of the Waynesburg business community since the 1940s, when it first opened its doors to serve the building needs of local residents and contractors. Over the years, the business has weathered changing times, evolving construction practices and generations of home improvement projects, while maintaining its place in Greene County’s commercial landscape.

Its long history reflects not only the enduring need for quality building materials, but also the value of a local business built on relationships, practical knowledge and service to the community.

For Wayne Lumber & Supply, selling lumber and hardware is only part of the job. Helping neighbors bring their projects to life is what makes the business a hometown fixture.

In 2018, the Mooney family purchased Wayne Lumber from the Headlees – the original owners.  The business continued to grow by strengthening its departments, expanding product selection and relying on a team of employees who understood the people they served.

Today, they are the area’s local Ace Hardware affiliate and serve as a one-stop retail home center and lumberyard. They carry quality brands for all your projects, both small and large.

Whether it’s paint, tools, decks, lumber, or their new line of Stihl products, they have what you need to get the job done.

Even more importantly, their employees have grown up in the area, giving them an appreciation for the community and familiarity with the needs of local homeowners and contractors. The staff has a variety of experiences, allowing them to share expertise and help customers find solutions, even when a project presents unfamiliar challenges.

That personal connection captures the spirit of Wayne Lumber & Supply: local people helping local people build, repair and improve their homes. Their greatest asset is not simply inventory. It’s the knowledge, teamwork and hometown relationships behind the counter.
