Join State Parks staff for an afternoon of exploring Wisecarver Reservoir by kayak and observing its avian inhabitants. Bring binoculars or borrow ours. Adults and children 12 years and older are welcome to participate. Anyone under 18 years old must be accompanied by a participating adult. This is a free program and will be limited

Toddler Walk (Saturday, 6/2/18 11 am – 12 pm) Bring your toddlers (ages 5 and under) to the park and enjoy a walk with the park naturalist. We will explore the sights and sounds of our natural world. Meet at Pavilion 2 in the Day Use Area.

Along Lazear Trail is a 12-acre plot that has been cut to create young forest habitat for ruffed grouse, American woodcock and other species that require early-successional forest. Hike with the park naturalist to see the progress of this area and duscuss the significance of diverse habitats in our ecosystems. Meet in the parking lot

Salamanders are active this time of year, but they are rarely seen. Discover what makes them unique. We will briefly talk about where they live and what they eat and how you can become a Citizen Scientist and document your findings. We will then explore the park in search of these tiny creatures. Wear shoes

Join us for marshmallows over a campfire and a discussion of the rich biodiversity we have in the park. Meet at the amphitheater across from the campground on McNay Ridge Road. Parking is available adjacent to the campground.

Join Ryerson Station State Park for a short hike to a beaver dam and discussion about their natural history. Continue with a hike up Sawdust Trail. The total hike is about two miles and will involve some hills. Meet at the picnic area near the entrance of the park along Bristoria Road at 6:30 p.m.
