The presentation will cover an overview of ticks and tick risks in this area, including a description of tick habitats and tick-borne diseases.
Dr. Fox will teach prevention and awareness strategies and go over her own T.I.C.K.S. formula for tick removal.Greene County Commissioner Blair Zimmerman said he believes the community can greatly benefit from the program.
“With the data being released that ticks and Lyme Disease are a prevalent problem in Pennsylvania, it’s great that the Department of Recreation is bringing Dr. Fox and her informative program here,” he said. “The Commissioners hope that our residents attend this important session.”
Jake Blaker, recreation director, said the recreation staff is excited to bring programs such as this to Greene County for the fall season, and encourages “everyone to continue to enjoy the great outdoors and remind them to protect themselves from pests like ticks and mosquitoes.”
